Fur & Feather
Two specialised workshops in animal and bird painting in the purpose built classroom situated in the beautiful surroundings of Swanwick Nature Reserve. There will be a maximum of 10 students per class to allow plenty of tutor time. The class will include several demonstrations throughout the day.
Swanwick is situated between Southampton and Fareham and is quickly accessed from the M27. The purpose built log cabin style study centre has a large class room which can accommodate 60 students. Both the centre and much of the 86 acre reserve are accessible to people of all abilities.
The Swanwick landscape is entirely man-made and the wetlands were originally created from the old clay workings last century. The lakes are now surrounded by woodland and flower rich meadows.
Every spring the woods are alive with warblers and the nightingale is a celebrated visitor. Dragonflies are a speciality on Centre Lake and butterflies and moths are easily observed.
